HARTSELLE, AL (WAFF) -

Crews finished drilling at the hole on I-65 in Hartselle. Workers spent a few days drilling below the surface, trying to figure out what caused the collapse.

The next step? A survey crew will begin looking at the scene and gathering more data the following week.

The sinkhole opened up a week before about a half mile away from exit 328 heading into Hartselle. So far, the state said the patch is holding and there has been no further settling.
