A teenager from Giles County TN was killed in a wreck Wednesday night.
State Troopers said 16-year-old Tison Marks was driving alone when he crashed on Dog Branch Road in Minor Hill. His pickup ran off the road, down a steep embankment, and hit a tree.
Marks was a rising Junior at Giles County High School and a member of the football team. His assistant principal said Marks had a great future ahead of him, and this tragedy has shaken the community.
Giles County coaches opened up the field house late Wednesday night to allow teammates and students a place to talk and grieve.
"Outstanding in every way," said Head Coach Walt Smith of Tison. "Well-behaved, 'yes ma'am, no ma'am,' polite, humble, and a phenomenal player on the field. He's everything you want a student athlete to be nowadays."
Friends and classmates met Thursday afternoon at the school for a short service. Counselors and youth pastors were there to talk with those in need of support.
