DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - A bull that broke out of its pen and ran loose on the streets of Decatur Thursday afternoon was shot and killed by a stockyard employee, Decatur Police confirmed.
Officers were called to Valley Stockyard on Pine Avenue off of Old Moulton Road Thursday afternoon in reference to a bull that escaped from a pen.
Employees said the bull was considered extremely dangerous. It had charged an officer and damaged a patrol car.
The stockyard employee shot and killed the bull in a wooded area behind the 600 block of Cockrell Avenue.
DPD, animal control and stockyard employees were involved in the search for the animal. No one was injured during the search for the animal.
