Grand jury indicts man on sexual abuse charges

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Morgan County man was indicted on sexual abuse charges by a Lawrence County Grand Jury, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities said Robert Lee Cowan, of Hartselle, was arrested in March after allegations were made by a female co-worker he supervised about unwanted sexual contact from Cowan.

The grand jury indicted Cowan for first-degree sexual abuse. The indictment was handed down May 16.

Cowan has since been released on $8,000 bond.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
