LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The IHOP in Athens scored a 72 with the Limestone County Health Department. The inspector reported a worker was touching ready to eat food with their bare hands, which potentially can cause cross contamination.

IHOP lost points because blanched bacon was held 17 degrees below the temperature required to prevent bacterial growth in cold food. The inspector also reported the drink nozzles needed to be cleaned.

Rancho Viejo is Muscle Shoals scored low enough for the third straight inspection to remain on the Colbert County Health Department's reinspection schedule. They scored an 82 after scoring an 80 and an 82 during their previous two inspections.

The inspector reported wastewater from the dish machine backed up into the building, a problem that was fixed the same day. Rancho Viejo also lost points because of cheese dip sitting out at less than half of the required hot holding temperature.

An 84 for the McDonald's on Highway 43 in Tuscumbia. The inspector reported the reach-in coolers were holding dairy items a little above the required temperature and that they were using farm eggs brought from home.

B & K Grocery in Tanner scored a 73. The inspector reported finding too many flies in the business. There were also temperature issues with hamburgers held 20 degrees below the required hot food temperature and a fridge was running nine degrees too warm.

Fammo's in Athens scored an 81. The inspector reported ribs were held 20 degrees below the required hot-holding temperature.

Francesco's Italian Restaurant in Decatur scored an 83. The inspector reported the cooler that holds pizza ingredients was running a little warm, and that a can opener blade needed to be cleaned.

The Bruegger's on Cecil Ashburn in Huntsville made it off of the Madison County Health Department's reinspection schedule, scoring a 93, 14 points better than last time.
