ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -

Athens will be collecting vegetative storm debris through June 27.

City officials asked that vegetative debris be moved to a public right-of-way and not in streets or ditches. Debris is not to be mixed; the Federal Emergency Management Agency will not reimburse the city for mixed-debris removal.

Crews will make at least two more passes to collect the remainder of debris. The city will hire a contractor to remove large stumps and roots left from the storm.

Starting June 30, normal trash collection will resume, with a limit of up to four cubic yards of waste per week.
