DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Authorities are investigating reports of several cattle thefts, farm equipment stolen and cattle shot in DeKalb County.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said they received a call about 50 head of cattle that were reported stolen along with farm equipment between May 13 and May 24. Investigators said the thefts happened on County Road 58 in the New Harmony Community.

The cattle are reportedly black, brown and white-faced in color. Authorities said they are Brangus type crossbred cattle and may have a yellow ear tag with numbers below 100 in the right ear. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.

On May 25 investigators also reported that two head of cattle were found shot on County Road 458 in the Lebanon Community. Authorities said a $2,500 reward is being offered for information in connection with this case.

Three more cattle were reported stolen from another farm in the Whiten Community on County Road 58. The cattle are black baldy heifers with yellow tags in the left ear. The tag numbers are 1311, 1312, and 1313. A reward of $2,500 is also being offered in connection with this case.

"The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and The State Law Enforcement Agency Agricultural and Rural Crime Unit are working hard together on these cases. So if anyone has any information or sees anything out of the ordinary of cattle been moved or transported please call DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, or your Police Department or the numbers above with the information," said Sheriff Jimmy Harris.
