1 killed, 1 seriously injured in Jackson Co. wreck

JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A wreck early Saturday morning left one man dead and one man with life-threatening injuries, according to state troopers.

Troopers said the vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree around 1:30 a.m. on Jackson County 357, two miles east of Pisgah. Authorities said the passenger, 22-year-old Gary Parson of Scottsboro, was killed during the crash.

State troopers said the driver, Winston Parson, 23, of Pisgah suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Huntsville Hospital by helicopter EMS.

Troopers said the men weren't wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. State troopers are still investigating this wreck.
