ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Three people were arrested on drug charges after Albertville police said they found a surprising amount of drugs during a traffic stop.

Patrick Williams, Crystal Rena Ginn, and Maura Elizabeth Medders were all charged with trafficking methamphetamine. Albertville Police said the three were stopped in a vehicle at the corner of Harris Street and Highway 431 in the early morning hours a weekend before.

According to officials, after a search of the vehicle, police found 44 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of nearly $5,000, as well as 25 methadone pills and nearly half a pound of spice.

"In general it's for resale, that amount, what it was, the dollar amount," said Assistant Chief Jamie Smith. "You break it up into smaller quantities and sell it on the street. Just this amount of drugs that we saw here is a pretty good street value."

All three were taken to the Marshall County Jail and booked on a $30,000 bond.
