HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - This week, we found a Huntsville road with a couple of problems. They were just as advertised on See, Click Fix. They're on Knight Road, just north of Johnson Road. Both problems are about a block north, just across from the apartment complex.
There's a manhole sinking with a big section of road around it. That makes the ride a little rough there. Far worse, though, just a few yards away, tree roots under the road are propping up the pavement and causing it to buckle.
The driver who posted on our site says you have to go into the opposite lane to pass. We were there 20 minutes, and every driver went in the other lane to avoid it. City of Huntsville crews checked it out, and public works now has a work order to fix those two. We'll check back.
Much farther to the east where Johnson Road is Airport Road, one driver said there's a cycling problem with the traffic light at Whitesburg Drive. He says you can wait two or three minutes sitting at the light on either side of Airport when there's no traffic at all on Whitesburg. Huntsville traffic engineers are now checking it out. We'll let you know if they make any changes.
