MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Marshall County man charged in connection with a fatal 2012 stabbing pleaded guilty to manslaughter in court on Tuesday. The family of the victim said they finally have justice.

Sean Ray Blanks is accused of stabbing and killing Billy Wayne Glassco Jr. in August of 2012. Authorities said the stabbing happened at a home on Williams Bend Road in the Martling community.

Blanks was sentenced to 25 years in prison. As part of his plea agreement, some other charges against him were dismissed. He was originally charged with murder.

Glassco left behind a wife and small child at the time he was killed. His widow hopes Blanks won't walk the streets again.

"I haven't seen a bit of remorse in him at all," said Jennifer Glassco. "I'm just going to hope that Mr. Blanks never gets out and I have nothing to say to him except, my son really misses his father and there's really nothing that you can do about it."

Blanks is expected to be transferred to the Department of Corrections in the next 30 days.
