MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

State troopers confirmed late Tuesday night that a teenager was killed as a result of injuries sustained in a crash in Marshall County.

Troopers said four people around the age of 19 were involved in the wreck on Highpoint Road around 9 p.m. Monday, five miles west of Albertville. Authorities said the 2006 Chevrolet left the road and hit a culvert. Three of the teens sustained injuries and were taken to area hospitals.

A fourth, 18-year-old Cherokee Williams, died on Tuesday. Williams, a passenger in the vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to troopers.

The investigation into the crash continues, but troopers said speed was a factor.
