Madison Co. detention officer arrested on domestic violence charge

MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Madison County jail employee was arrested Sunday, accused of domestic violence.

Madison County Sheriff Bake Dorning said 34-year-old Christopher Anthony Causey, of Hazel Green, was arrested in connection with an alleged physical altercation with his spouse.

Causey is a detention officer. He was on duty at the county jail at the time of his arrest.

After a mandatory 12 hour holding period in the jail, Causey will be released on a $300 cash bond. He's currently on administrative leave without pay, pending the outcome of this matter.

He was charged with third degree domestic violence, a Class A misdemeanor. It carries a maximum punishment of up to one year in jail.

Causey's mug shot was not immediately available on the jail website.
