LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Trinity man was arrested following a church burglary case that authorities have been investigating for two years.

Authorities made the arrest in connection with a Nov. 2012 break-in at the Holiness Independent Church of Jesus Christ located on County Road 170. According to the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, thousands of dollars worth of music equipment was stolen.

The sheriff's office said that investigations into recent crimes helped them make a break in the case.

Justin Eugene James, 22, was charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree theft of property. Authorities said James confessed to his involvement after being questioned about the crimes.

Investigators said they were able to recover most of the items stolen from the church.

James is being held in the Lawrence County Jail on $7,5000 bond.
