GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - With no discussion, the Guntersville school board unanimously voted Monday to suspend a coach facing sexual abuse charges.
Police arrested David Barrow on May 9 on charges of sexual abuse of a child and human trafficking.
Police said the investigation does not involve Barrow's position as a high school girls soccer coach, but it does involve two 10-year-old girls.
A group of concerned soccer parents was expected to address the board, but they have since called and asked to be taken off the agenda.
Dr. Dale Edwards, superintendent of the school system, officially recommended Barrow's suspension at Monday's meeting. Following his recommendation was the board's unanimous vote to suspend.
The other person charged in the case is still in jail on a $120,000 bond. Kristian Griffin is accused of conspiracy to commit sexual abuse of a child.
