NEW YORK, NY (WAFF) -

Some Grissom High School students are in New York competing in a national economics competition.

The students are up against teams from Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Minnesota and Hawaii, putting their economics skills to the test. The Grissom team is comprised of Bill Caraway, Ash Nanda, Animesh Mahapatra and Daniel Blumer. The team's coach is teacher Suzanne Bailey.

At the national finals, students must work to solve case problems and participate in a quiz bowl with questions on subjects ranging from microeconomics to current events.

The team that earns the title of National Champions will win a special tour of the New York Stock Exchange and ring the closing bell at the NYSE.

The winning team will be announced at the conclusion of the competition on Monday.
