Time and time again, surveillance video has helped solve
crimes. All it takes is one good tip.
In Huntsville, the way tipsters get paid is by the Annual
Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers Auction. The crowd did not disappoint the 13th
year of the auction.
Four vehicles were up for bid along with a huge SEC
Football Package with tickets to 12 games. It's the only fundraiser of the year
for the non-profit organization, of which we're proud to be the media partner.
"If it wasn't for WAFF and the community, there is no way
we could pull this off without you guys," said Officer Nathan Nickelson.
The auction pulled in just over $20,000, up from the
previous year's $17,000.
