Hinds Deputy accused of murdering coach free on bond

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Joshua Adams, the Hinds County Deputy charged with murder in the death of 25-year-old Justin Griffin, had his bond set at $50,000 Friday, but Judge Winston Kidd set some conditions. Among them are house arrest with a curfew. No contact with victims family or witnesses.

Adams posted bond late Friday evening, and has been released. His case will be presented to the next Hinds County Grand Jury.

Adams and Griffin argued over play calls on the court and later Griffin was attacking in the parking lot outside, according to police.

Griffin died from blunt-force trauma to the head from injuries in the fight, and strangulation said Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart.

There have been conflicting reports on the fatal fight.  There have also been differing accounts of who was the aggressor.
