Watch out for heavy farm equipment on roads

Chief David Morris of Warwick Police Chief David Morris of Warwick Police
WARWICK, GA (WALB) -

It's planting season.

That means you need to watch out for farm vehicles on the roads.

Last year, Worth County farmer A-W Gill was critically injured when someone crashed into his tractor on Highway 300.

Warwick Police urge drivers to slow down in areas where you see signs that warn you about sharing the road with tractors.

"And it was all contributed to speed the driver was going initially too fast and not paying attention to what he was doing. That's what we are there to prevent in Warwick," said Chief David Morris of Warwick Police.

Now that fields are drying out more farmers are driving their heavy equipment from field to field on busy highways and streets.

So make sure you watch out for them and are patient when you come across a tractor on the road.
