GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Tampering charges won't keep two men from fishing in a weekly tournament in Marshall County.

Robert Gillaspie and Gary Minor, Junior are accused of cheating in last week's "Tuesday and Thursday Night Owls Fishing Tournament" on Lake Guntersville.

They're both charged with tampering with a sporting event.

Authorities say the men turned in a fish that they caught before the tournament began.

The attorney for the tournament's director says Gillaspie and Minor are not banned from the tournament, so the men pan to return to the water on Tuesday.

However, in light of the charges, the tournament director is amending the rules to give himself discretion in any future incidents.
