HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Two different gun companies announced Friday morning they were closing up shop and relocating to the new Remington plant when it opens.

The first to announce was the Montana Rifleman Company. It makes rifle and pistol barrels. They have about 160 people in their employ.

The other was DPMS Panther Arms in St. Cloud, Minnesota. DPMS makes AR-15S and other rifles. They have about 115 people in their employ.

It's unclear if any of the Minnesota or Montana employees will be moving with the company. Remington promised 2,000 new jobs at the plant over the next 10 years.
