Dentist hosts free dental service day in Guntersville

People lined up for free dental services Friday morning at Total Dental Care in Guntersville. People lined up for free dental services Friday morning at Total Dental Care in Guntersville.
GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A dentist is holding a free day of service in Guntersville on Friday.

Total Dental Care hosts the event each year. Dr. Chris Harper is offered the service to those who would otherwise be unable to afford the care. He ended up seeing 85 patients and doing over $18,000 in free dentistry. He called the event a huge success.

The event started Friday at 8 a.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis. People were encouraged to bring canned food items that can be donated to an area food bank.
