CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) -

Crockett first responders will soon be cooking crawfish, and it will all be all for a good cause.

The Guns and Hoses Relay for Life team will be selling crawfish and other food items at the annual event Friday night.

The team was formed by police officers and firefighters as a way to honor the memory of David Williamson, a former Crockett fire chief that died in from cancer in 2103.

"It's the season for crawfish," said Crockett Fire Chief John Angerstein. "It's an East Texas favorite, so we figured it would go very well. We have crawfish, and if you don't like crawfish, we have sausage, corn potato and drinks. We will be serving all that until we sell out. We have about 500 pounds of crawfish."

The team will be selling the crawfish at $5 per pound. They will also be selling corn on the cob, potato and a 20-ounce soda for $5. They ask that you bring your own box and bags.

The Relay for Life event starts at 5 p.m. at the Ag Arena located at 1100 Edminston Dr.
