JACKSONVILLE, FL (AP) -

The Jacksonville Jaguars have waived first-year quarterback Matt Scott.

The move comes a week after the team selected quarterback Blake Bortles with the third overall pick in the NFL draft and a day before the start of a two-day rookie minicamp.

Scott would have been eligible to participate in the camp. Now, Bortles and undrafted rookie Stephen Morris will handle practice repetitions.

The Arizona Wildcats product ('12) did not appear in any regular season games during the 2013 season.
