HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Bond has been officially set for the woman accused of trying to kill her infant daughter.

A judge set Natasha Deann Townsend's bond at $60,000. Townsend is charged with the attempted murder of her 3-month-old child. She remains in the Madison County Metro Jail.

Townsend is accused of using a butcher knife to stab her daughter. Investigators said she had planned to kill the child and then herself.

Officers found the baby with multiple stab wounds Saturday at a home on Neptune Drive in Huntsville, a home neighbors said belongs to a relative of Townsend.

The baby was taken to UAB with critical injuries. An update on her condition has not been released.

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
