$6m in FEMA funds approved in Alabama

LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Federal Emergency Management Agency officials said that more than 1,000 people across the nine Alabama counties declared disaster areas have registered for assistance.

Officials said 1,140 registrations have been made, with $6,073,205 in funds approved.

In North Alabama, two disaster recovery centers remain open for people to apply for FEMA assistance in person:

Limestone County: 11281 Ripley Road, Athens – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday

DeKalb/Etowah Counties: 1335 Sardis Drive, Boaz – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday

FEMA does not distribute cash, checks, debit cards or vouchers at these locations.
