HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Rush hour.
By definition, it's heavy traffic, and that's what you see morning and evening on University Drive from Madison to Huntsville and back. But is there a way to make the drive a little easier?
That's the gist of one driver's comments. He posted on See, Click, Fix that he thinks Huntsville engineers should sequence the traffic lights so that eastbound traffic gets a little extra help in the morning and westbound at night. He's talking about Jeff Road to the west all the way to Memorial Parkway. He says cars get stuck in the evening at traffic lights, especially in front of the Walmart.
Huntsville engineers say they operate the lights directionally at those times, but detour traffic from several road projects has skewed everything a little. They'll make adjustments where they can.
And soon, there will be an adjustment to a street light at the corner of Wynn Drive and Holmes Avenue. The City of Huntsville sent this to Huntsville Utilities, which will send out a crew to repair or replace it.
