ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) -

The city of Alexandria has sued an Alabama independent filmmaker to recover $50,000 put up in 2009 to help finance a movie about Bonnie and Clyde.

The movie has not been made.

Tanya Holly of Cypress Moon Production Inc. in Florence, Alabama, says she still plans to make it but has had problems getting money from investors who had pledged it.

She tells The Town Talk (http://townta.lk/1kWvekh ) she was blindsided by the lawsuit, which was filed Wednesday in 9th Judicial District Court.

Mayor Jacques Roy said in November 2012 that he wanted the company either to make the movie or return the money.

She told the newspaper then that filming would begin the following January.
