MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Madison County woman was injured after she said three robbers broke into her house while she was sleeping Thursday night.

The victim's family said two of the robbers ransacked the house while a third held the woman down and struck her in the face.

The victim's family said the three men kicked in a side door of the house in the 5500 block Oakwood Road. The victim's husband, Antony Austin, said he got a call while working in Montgomery from his wife. She told him the three robbers asked her where all the money is and attacked her.

Then Austin said one of the attackers held his wife down and hit her over and over in the head while the other two men started going through the family's belongings. Austin's wife said an alarm went off during the attack and three alleged robbers took off.

"If the alarm wouldn't have gone off, there's no telling what they would have done to my wife," said Austin. "There's no telling. She probably wouldn't even be here today. I just thank the Lord."

Austin is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robbers. WAFF reached out to multiple members of the Madison County Sheriff's Office for a comment. They've yet to pass along any information about the investigation.
