Good Wednesday evening and Happy Hump Day!
We're continuing to follow the recovery efforts from last week's tornado outbreak in the Tennessee Valley. WAFF 48's Vincent Crivelli will have more on a couple of programs that have been set up to help the students and faculty at a pair of Limestone County schools get the personal and school items they need to move ahead with their lives.
We've been telling you about a statewide crackdown on synthetic drugs. In Alabama, it's known as "Operation Red Tide". Our state is one of 36 states across the country taking part in this crackdown. 10 Alabama counties, including Madison DeKalb and Morgan in our area took part in this major initiative. In Alabama, we've had 38 arrests and recovered a total of a half million dollars in cash. And WAFF 48's Diana Crawford will drive home just how important this is. She'll talk to some parents in Muscle Shoals who lost a son to synthetic drugs.
Also, in my weekly Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers report, we'll show you how a man used a fake check to steal a washer and dryer that he said were last-minute "Christmas presents" for his mother. It's your chance to cash in on this crook.
