KILLEN, AL (WAFF) -

A 15-year-old Lauderdale County teenager accused of attacking a fellow student went before the school board on Wednesday for a disciplinary hearing.

The student was expelled for a term of 365 days. If he wishes to apply for re-admittance into the Lauderdale County school system after that term expires, he must appear before the board again to do so.

Police and school officials can't release specific details because the case involves teenagers.

According to police, the 14-year-old victim was inside the Brooks High School band room during the last period Thursday when he was attacked. The victim was taken to the hospital.

Police arrested the 15-year-old attacker two days later and charged him with felony assault. The victim is expected to be okay.
