KILN, MS (WLOX) -

Tracy Rogers has fully recovered. Last season he served as an assistant coach at West Jones High School.

Rogers is now the defensive line coach at Hancock High School and he's participating in spring football drills.

To this day he says he has no idea as to why he collapsed and slipped into a coma.

Rogers said,"To be honest I don't know what happened. All I know is one day I woke up seven days later and my wife told me I had been in a coma for seven days."

Back in 2012 Rogers was defensive coordinator at West Harrison High School. After he went into a coma the West Harrison student body purchased tee shirts that said,"Team Rogers.. Never Give up, Miracles Happen Everyday."

The money raised from the tee shirts helped pay for medical expenses.

Rogers admits doctors didn't know who he would come out of his coma.

"It was touch and go, I think it was on a Tuesday morning,"stated Rogers. "They said things weren't looking good but things got progressively better that Tuesday afternoon, into Wednesday. Thursday I started coming out of it and just got better and things have gotten better ever since."

Rogers thanks Hancock coach Rocky Gaudin for giving him a coaching job back on the coast. Coaching is his passion.

"I just love being around the kids, the young men, the seventh and ninth graders and see how they develop all the way to their senior year and even after they have graduated."

Rogers and the Hancock Hawks will host a spring football jamboree May 15 on the brand new field turf on Brett Favre Field in the Kiln.  Besides Hancock, Pass Christian, Moss Point and Resurrection will all be participating.
