On Tuesday, the U.S. National Climate Assessment was released which stated that heat waves and wild storms caused by global warming will continue to get worst and more expensive.

The report has heated up the political debate and some Alabama representatives have weighed in on the issue.

A spokesman for Rep. Roby said:

"As is too often the case, global warming policy here is ahead of the science. Rep. Roby supports an 'all-of-the-above' approach to energy that would boost domestic production, decrease reliance on foreign energy, and develop clean and renewable sources that can power future generations. We can do all that without overly-burdensome environmental policies that raise energy prices and stifle economic growth."

Rep. Mike Rogers added:

"President Obama and his Administration will stop at nothing to push his radical environmental policies onto our economy. This report is another chapter of the EPA's War on Coal, and lays the groundwork for yet another regulatory end run around Congress. These policies, if not stopped, will cost American families in higher electricity rates and hurt good paying jobs."

Rep. Terri Sewell stated:

"Today's Climate Assessment released by the White House highlights the dire realities of climate change. It is clear that we are already feeling the impact of climate change and that immediate action should be taken to address the current and future threats we face. I look forward to reviewing the White House's recommendations and working with my colleagues to implement them and protect our environment for future generations."
