HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Bobby Berry is not happy with what he sees across the street from his home.

"I work real hard to keep our yard real nice," said Berry. "And so do all the other neighbors except this one." The house across from Berry is located on the 6700 block of Chadwell Road in southwest Huntsville. You can hardly see the house from about 30 feet away.

"They don't mow the grass," said Berry. "They don't pick up the limbs when they fall. They don't rake up the leaves. Like, I see it every day and it's an eyesore."

Another homeowner posted the house on See, Click, Fix looking for some help. A community development investigator from the City of Huntsville is checking it out. In cases like this, it's usually a home that's vacant or the homeowner is nowhere to be found.

It's a similar situation with another house on Bonita Circle. It even has a notice on front door to clear the yard.

"This has been up here since July 8, 2013," said neighbor Jeanne Grant. "And, obviously, the owner hasn't gotten back to the city. It's been an eyesore. It's ugly."

"The owner doesn't seem to be renting it out," said neighbor Jerome McInnish. "He doesn't seem to be improving it, so I'm not sure what the story behind it is."

I checked the city's ordinance on grass and weeds. If an owner doesn't respond to a notice to clean up, the city will clean it and assess the costs to the owner. It can also put a lien on the property.

We'll keep an eye on these two and see if and when they get cleaned up. Stay tuned.
