LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The woman whose car was struck by a train Tuesday morning has been released from the hospital.

The wreck happened around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Thach Road and Clem Road. 

Police said the 62-year-old driver told them she saw red lights flashing, but she ended up on the tracks. Her Fiat was hit by the CSX train.

The woman was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital, where she was treated and released.

The accident is still under investigation
