Teen injured in Huntsville shooting

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville police said a victim was shot in the leg late Monday night.

The shooting happened around 11 p.m. on the 2200 block of Evans Avenue. Officers said when they arrived, they found a male shot in the leg. HEMSI took the victim to Huntsville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police the shooting stemmed from a robbery, but the victim told officers the gunman came up and just shot him.

The shooter was last seen running towards the area of Medaris Road. A police K-9 was called in to find the man, but so far, no one has been taken into custody.
