BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A firefighter was arrested for allegedly taking pictures and recording video of women walking and running around the LSU Lakes on Monday.

Peter Dibenedetto, 35, of Denham Springs, is charged with video voyeurism and possession of alcohol in a vehicle. His bond was set at $17,000.

Officials said he has been with the Baton Rouge Fire Department for 15 years.

According to the probable cause report, police were contacted by an anonymous caller. An officer reportedly found Dibenedetto inside a white van that was parked at the Baton Rouge Beach.

"The subject was taken out of the vehicle and in plain view, officers spotted a half-gallon of vodka," the officer noted in the report. "There was also a cup in the middle of the console containing alcohol."

Dibenedetto was placed under arrest. The officer reviewed his cell phone and reportedly found 43 videos of various women. He allegedly focused on particular areas of the body.

"All videos were done without the females' knowledge or consent," the officer noted.

Dibenedetto was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on the above charges.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department said it is also looking into the matter. Officials released a statement in response to the arrest.

"The Baton Rouge Fire Department certainly does not condone the actions one of our members has been accused of," the statement read. "The laws of the state of Louisiana require the chief to follow specific rules and procedures that are outlined in the fire fighters bill of rights when a situation like this arises. The chief will begin that process and follow those requirements. In the meantime, the Baton Rouge Fire Department will continue to strive to keep the citizens of this city safe through fire prevention education and suppression."

Police continue to investigate.
