Arrest made in Athens stabbing investigation

ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -

Police arrested a man in connection with a stabbing that happened Monday, April 28, in Athens.

Officers responded around 4:30 p.m. to the 800 block of South Houston Street. Police said they found the victim with a single stab wound to his thigh. He was transported to Athens-Limestone Hospital and treated for his injuries.

Authorities arrested 41-year-old Patrick Oneal Malone, of Athens. Police said Malone turned himself in Friday morning after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Malone was charged with second-degree assault and transferred to the Limestone County Jail.
