BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

More than a dozen tornadoes touched down in Alabama a week ago today. Many storm victims spent their weekend cleaning up.

In Kimberly, people have donated their time, as well as supplies, to help people get things back in order. Kimberly's mayor says he is pleased with the generosity that has been pouring in.

"I feel great about where we are. I feel great about the community and just so thankful that we're here. But we met with FEMA yesterday, so that was a whole new wave of information, kind of like drinking from a fire hose. So we're digesting from that, we're working through this," said Mayor Bob Ellerbrock.

Kimberly's fire station is not in use, because it was hit by last Monday's tornado. Currently, they can only handle EMS calls. They're relying on mutual aid to cover fire calls.

Last week, Kimberly received a pumping truck from a fire station in Indiana. Firefighters drove the truck 500 miles to Alabama.
