Police ID man found dead at Lee's Summit hotel

LEE'S SUMMIT, MO (KCTV) -

Authorities have identified the man who was found dead at a Lee's Summit hotel.

The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Terry P. Voigt, of Post Falls, ID.

Lee's Summit police were called to the Comfort Inn off of Southeast Oldham Parkway near Bridgehampton Way about 10 a.m. Saturday.

Officers say Voigt was found dead in a room on the third floor of the hotel.

"When he didn't respond to calls this morning to meet up for breakfast or whatever it was they got suspicious, went into the room and found him," Sgt. Chris Depue said.

Police said Voigt was staying at the hotel with a group of co-workers while in town for a training seminar in the metro.

The investigation into Voigt's death is ongoing, and investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy.
