CULLMAN, AL (WAFF) -

A Cullman County judge granted a motion for a default judgment against the man behind Cypress Creek Organic Farms.

James Lawhorne's company advertised affiliate farmers could make tens-of-thousands of dollars growing organic tomatoes. The Better Business Bureau issued an alert on the company saying they could not back up those claims.

Several affiliate farmers filed a lawsuit against Lawhorne after he shut down the company. An attorney for the farmers told the judge Lawhorne had not answered the lawsuit.

Friday afternoon the judge signed an order granting the default judgment against Lawhorne.
