South Lincoln Elementary School was heavily damaged by a tornado earlier this week. School leaders will host an open house on Friday for parents and students to talk about what happens next.

Teachers from each grade will be at the meeting from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Flintville Elementary to show parents where their children's classroom will be. Parents who need childcare will also be able to sign up at the meeting.

School will begin on Monday and South Lincoln will hold classes at Flintville Elementary.

Car riders can begin arriving at Flintville for drop off at 11:15 a.m. Parents should enter at the east end of the building and drive to the back to drop off students at the awning. Afternoon car riders will begin loading at the rear of the building at 2:45 p.m.

K-8 BUS RIDERS: South Lincoln buses will pick up children at their homes and should arrive at Flintville Elementary between 11:15 and 11:30. Parents should estimate the bus arrival time at your home based on what it was on a normal school day. Afternoon buses will load at around 3:20 for the trip home.

There will be multiple staff members present to assist in morning and afternoon to make car rider line and bus line run as smooth as possible.

9-12  BUS RIDERS: The  South Lincoln drivers will run their buses at normal time and pick up 9-12 students. They will then drive the 9-12 grade to Lincoln Baptist Church. The NGA and LCHS students will then transfer to their normal shuttle buses that transports them to their respective school.  An administrator or designee from NGA and LCHS will be at the church to supervise. The 9-12 students will ride their normal shuttle bus when they leave NGA and LCHS in the afternoon and those students will be shuttled to Flintville Elementary School. At Flintville, they will then get on their normal South Lincoln bus which will transport them home.

TCAP testing will be given Tuesday, May 6 through Friday, May 9.

The recovery team was able to find almost all student medications. The nurse will be sorting through the box of medication and if a child has an emergency medication that is missing, she will notify parents as soon as possible.

South Lincoln will provide summer childcare as they have in the past. Childcare for this summer will be housed at Flintville Elementary School. Parents may pick up applications in the Flintville office regarding summer childcare and fee information.
