Soccer Festivals in Ten U.S. Cities from May through September Feature USA's Largest Hispanic Tourneys and Youth Talent Search

SAN FRANCISCO, May 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Alianza de Futbol, launched a decade ago to support the development of amateur Hispanic soccer, will kick off its 11th season in Dallas on Saturday, May 3rd.  Famous for exposing young Hispanic talent to professional and national team scouts, the Alianza de Futbol games that weekend will feature men's, women's and youth tournaments. Dallas players and fans will have the opportunity to experience RAM Copa Alianza, Kellogg's® Copita Alianza, 7UP® Sueño Alianza, Alianza Femenil and Alianza U presented by Verizon. Following the Dallas tournaments, the Alianza soccer festivals will visit nine more cities across the country through September.

Alianza de Futbol(R)

"We created Alianza de Futbol because despite soccer's massive popularity in the Hispanic community it had been underserved and its deep pool of youth talent underappreciated," says Alianza de Futbol Hispano Co-Founder Brad Rothenberg

There are multiple programs owned and operated by Alianza de Futbol. Copa Alianza (Alianza Cup), title-sponsored by Ram Truck, is the nation's largest Hispanic adult amateur tournament attracting more than 5,000 players with nearly 300 teams competing for $100,000 in cash and prizes. Copita Alianza (Alianza Youth Cup) will feature more than 1,000 teams and 20,000 players.  It is the largest Hispanic youth tournament in the country and title-sponsored by Kellogg's®.  It provides a low-cost tournament experience for Hispanic youth with team fees at least half the average price of traditional U.S. tournaments.

This year's Alianza de Futbol events will be more expansive than ever thanks to the growth of its men's and youth competitions along with the addition of Alianza Femenil, Alianza's new female competition expecting to attract more than 2,000 Hispanic female soccer players.

Seven players from this year's Sueño Alianza (title-sponsored by 7UP®), the USA's most extensive scouting program for teenage Hispanic soccer players, will be offered a contract with Liga MX clubs (top division of Mexican professional soccer).  In years past, 7UP® Sueño Alianza has had nearly 40 players signed to professional contracts, 14 earn youth national team call-ups (for the USA, Mexico and Honduras), and eight athletes receive college scholarships. Alums that have benefited from this program include Californian Julio Morales, who was signed by Chivas de Guadalajara and played for Mexico at the 2013 U-20 World Cup, and Dennis Flores, who made his Liga MX debut with Club Leon's first team last March.

Alianza U presented by Verizon is a college counseling program that provides college recruiting and admissions training for players and parents. It includes a scholarship contest with two winners receiving a $10,000 each for higher education.

The combination of the four programs listed above – complemented by the Alianza Food Festival, the interactive Sponsor Village, and appearances by Mexican stars such as Rafael Marquez and Jorge Campos – have seen Alianza de Futbol attract more than 200,000 players and spectators annually.

Following the Dallas event (May 3-4), Alianza travels to Phoenix (May 17-18), Houston (May 24-26), New York (June 7 – 8), Denver (June 14-15), Atlanta (June 21-22), Washington, D.C. (June 28-29), Chicago (July 28-29), Los Angeles (Aug. 2-3 and Aug. 9-10), San Francisco (Aug. 30-Sept. 1) and El Paso (Sept. 6-7). For venues and further details, visit
