ADAMSVILLE, AL (WBRC) -

One Adamsville couple is thankful to be alive in wake of Monday's storm.

The Whites went to sleep about 9 p.m. only to wake up around 11 p.m. with the roof of their mobile home falling down on their heads.

"I started yelling, 'In the name of Jesus!' as loud as I could holler. I kept hollering it until the wind ceased," Johnny White said.

White and his wife Bonnie were trapped in their bed with him holding up part of the roof.

"I was shaking. He was hollering. I said, 'Don't let me go.' He kept holding tight. I said, 'What about the dogs?' He said, 'Don't worry about the dogs. They will be okay,'" Bonnie White said.

The Whites and their dogs survived the tornado that hit the Longview Mobile Home Park. Bonnie White suffered injuries to her hand and arm but no broken bones. Thanks to the park's manager the Whites were able to move into another mobile home.

Other mobile homes were badly damaged and one abandoned trailer was overturned. The Whites are thankful.

"I think God was holding that stuff down on us to protect us. I thank God we are alive," Johnny said.

The Whites said they are looking forward to the future and the birth of their sixth grandchild.
