NORTH ALABAMA (WAFF) -

People across the Tennessee Valley want to help those impacted by the tornadoes.

Danisha Grierson started gathering clothes, shoes and other items, intending to sell them on Craigslist or a yard sale. After Monday's tornadoes, she said she plans to donate the items to the victims.

"There's so many people, you know, all their belongings were taken so quickly," she said. "If I have things I can donate and I could help them out, then I thought that I would."

Grierson said she'll donate the items to a devastated area soon.

Fleet Feet Sport is also collecting donations for tornado victims. You are asked to donate items like blankets, towels, sheets and toiletries. Donations will be collected through Friday.

Another way you can help is at the checkout line. WAFF 48 has teamed up with the American Red Cross and Kroger. Visit any Kroger location and donate at the checkout counter. 100% of the funds collected will go to the Red Cross relief effort.
