HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The National Weather Service in Huntsville will travel to several counties on Wednesday to confirm if tornadoes caused damage there earlier this week.

The NWS will dispatch three teams that will split up and cover different areas. One survey team will go to Cullman and Franklin Counties, a second team will survey damage across DeKalb County and a third team will survey across Lincoln County, TN and Madison County.

If the teams have time, they'll review their surveys from Tuesday.

A big part of the NWS's success with their severe weather warning program comes from people calling in and reporting damage. You can report damage to the NWS in Huntsville or to your local emergency management agency.
