HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The National Weather Service confirmed at least an EF-3 tornado caused damage in Limestone County near Bay hill Marina on Monday. Winds were reported to be 136-165mph.

The NWS dispatched two teams to survey the damage from Monday night's storms that moved through north Alabama. Officials said the survey is ongoing.

One survey team will be in western Limestone County where two people were killed at Billy and Barb's Trailer Park in Coxey. A second team will survey damage across southern Lincoln County, Tennessee. A couple was killed at a mobile home park there.

NWS said their primary mission is the protection of life and property. With the region under a slight to moderate risk of severe weather Tuesday, their primary focus will be severe weather operations. More survey teams will be dispatched later in the week as weather permits.

As surveyors get more information from the field, they will release more details. We will pass along their finding online and on WAFF 48 News.
