JULIA'S FORECAST: **ALERT** Severe Weather Possible Through Tuesday

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Good morning- it's time to be weather aware! Several rounds of severe weather are possible through tomorrow afternoon.

Starting this early morning, rain and severe thunderstorms are expected to enter the Delta as part of a squall line. This area of severe weather will traverse through the Jackson metro area as we head into the afternoon. Storms will continue to impact central Mississippi tonight through Tuesday afternoon before exiting by Wednesday.

Any storm today has the potential to become strong to severe. That means damaging winds, large hail, strong tornadoes, and flash flooding are a threat. Please be prepared to activate your weather safety plan. Remember, in the case of a tornado, the safest place to be is in a basement or in the central most portion of a sturdy building, away from any windows.

For weather alerts, please download the First Alert Weather App on your smart phone. Additionally, keep your NOAA weather radio at hand.

Stay safe!
