Interfaith Mission Service hosts annual dinner

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Interfaith Mission Service will host their 2014 Annual Celebration & Awards Dinner on April 29 at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

The theme of the dinner, which is also celebrating 45 years since the cooperative's founding, will be "Windows of Opportunity."

This community dinner will be held at the Exhibit Hall in UAH's University Center. The doors will open at 5 p.m., and the dinner will last from 5:30-8 p.m.

Rabbi Steven G. Sager, the executive director of Sicha, will be the keynote speaker.

Sponsorship levels for the dinner include a Platinum Table at $1,000, a Gold 1/2 Table at $500 and an individual seat at $100.

The Interfaith Mission Service will also present awards to several recipients.

The cooperative was founded in 1969 by eleven congregations, including Covenant Presbyterian Church, First Christian Church, First United Methodist Church, Holmes Street United Methodist Church, Lakewood United Methodist Church, Latham Memorial United Methodist Church, St. Mark's Lutheran Church, St. Paul United Methodist Church, Temple B'nai Sholom, Trinity Presbyterian Church and Trinity United Methodist Church.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
