Kitchen Cops: 5 low scores dished out

Five restaurants made it to the list of low performers in the Kitchen Cops report. Five restaurants made it to the list of low performers in the Kitchen Cops report.
MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Drake's on Whitesburg Drive in Huntsville scored a 79 with the Madison County Health Department.

The inspector reported that raw food in a drawer under the grill and ready to eat food in a reach-in cooler were above the temperature required to prevent bacterial growth in cold holding food. Another way bacteria can grow is if cooked food isn't cooled properly, and restaurants have to record that information.

The inspector reports some of the information was unavailable. Drake's also lost points because of broken wires on breading baskets.

CiCi's Pizza in Florence scored an 82. The inspector reported there were too many insects at the restaurant and that hot food was below the required temperature.

Rancho Viejo in Muscle Shoals scored an 82 during a reinspection after scoring an 80 in their previous inspection.

A Lauderdale County health inspector reported shrimp, poultry, beef and eggs were held between six and ten degrees over the required cold holding temperature and that workers were eating and drinking while rolling silverware into napkins.

White Dove Market in Athens scored a 74. A Limestone County health inspector reported some corn dogs and a cheeseburger were held slightly below the required hot holding temperature. White Dove also lost points because the meat slicer needed cleaned. The inspector also reported they were using one towel to dry all of the dishes, which can cause cross contamination.

Bonnie's Bogeys in Guntersville scored a 79. The Marshall County Health Department reported a soda gun was dirty. Bonnie's also lost points because of open employee drinks behind the bar.

Claunch Cafe in Tuscumbia scored a 92, getting off of the Colbert County Health Department's reinspection schedule with a 10-point improvement over their previous inspection.

OK Corral in Muscle Shoals is off of the during reinspection schedule after scoring a 91, 11 points better than last time.
